At the end of 2019, the coordinators of this dossier, Fernando Ciaramitaro and Andrea Mutolo, established the Seminario di Studi Italiani (SSI) in Mexico City. This is the first permanent, internal scientific body of the Associazione dei Ricercatori Italiani in Messico (ARIM, Association of Italian Researchers in Mexico). This network of academics and experts was founded in 2017 and aims to generate, promote, and disseminate scientific knowledge based on principles of equality and social inclusion, sustainability, and overcoming territorial asymmetries through research, human resource training, outreach, social impact, and public policy. ARIM unites and manages the official network of Italian researchers living or working in Mexico and, according to its Statute, generates scientific knowledge from a multidisciplinary perspective. It promotes new scientific analysis and research approaches through collaborative, reflective, and productive dialogue. Now presented to the reader, this dossier is the first collective academic-scientific result or product of both the SSI and ARIM.
