Abstract

Study the relationship between human societies and the night was not a central concern of social sciences. In the studies have been privileged issues such as fear of the night, night lighting, night life (entertainment, places, bohemian), the danger and evil of the night, as well as monitoring and repression. Between 1910 and 1930, Cali was in a period of transition to modernization, so the night in this city experienced turbulence caused by the junction of two trends: modernizing bourgeois spirit and the traditionalist mentality.
