HACIA UNA HISTORIOGRAFIA MUSICAL EN EL VALLE DEL CAUCA (Música de salón, 1890-1930)
Main Article Content
An advance of the State of the Art on Music Historiography in the Valley of Cauca is presented, between 1890-1930, particularly related to the chamber music, given that research on the history of music in Colombia is a developing field and the studies developed respond to investigations that in many cases are local and fragmented. The musical manifestations included individual and collective practices, sacred and profane music, in which is necessary to start from different sources such as original scores, hand made programs, recordings, family archived collections, matted, periodic publications as the Helios, Awakenings of Valle del Cauca, The Caravan, in which the quotidian presents part of the artistic activities at that time, confronted and fueled by the historic studies of the region and the history of the National Music. This work falls within the qualitative method of research, and it makes use of oral and written registers, that allows not only process of memory retrieval processes, but also allows visualizing historic processes.
