This paper reconstructs the commercial route between Cartagena, the provinces of Sinú and the Atrato. It highlights the peculiarities of these areas, the national and local businessmen who worked on these contexts before the arrival of the Syrian-Lebanese immigrants, and how they emerged and took advantage of the socio-economic conditions of the previously mentioned commercial route.
